Conner Chanove, a former employee of the Vista Unified School District, was arrested and later pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to child molestation. Chanove, who worked as a substitute teacher, counselor, and instructional aide, as well as a water polo coach for the all-girls Seaside Water Polo Club in Carlsbad, admitted to committing lewd acts with a 13-year-old girl. He was apprehended after the girl's mother found her with Chanove in a vehicle at Guajome Lake Park in Oceanside. The girl disclosed inappropriate contact, which was corroborated by evidence from Snapchat messages detailing their plans to meet. Parents stated that Chanove had groomed her daughter for several months and taken advantage of her trust.
